Nicole S. Mallma is an immigration attorney who is passionate about protecting the legal rights of her clients throughout the life cycle of their immigration cases. Ms. Mallma represents clients in removal proceedings, and in family and employment based petitions. During her law school education, she interned at non-profits that offer immigration legal services in Charleston, South Carolina, and Washington, D.C. At these internships, Nicole filed affirmative asylum applications and U Visa petitions, performed extensive legal research, drafted internal memoranda, and translated documents from Spanish to English. Following her interest in representing underserved populations, Ms. Mallma interned at the Charleston County Public Defender’s Office in South Carolina. Her duties were to perform legal research, draft memoranda for the Public Defenders, assist in interviewing incarcerated clients, conduct discoveries, and prepare for trials.
After graduating from law school, Nicole pursued her Master of Law to specialize in Immigration Law and Policy from the American University Washington College of Law. Ms. Mallma has a Juris Doctor from Charleston School of Law and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies with a minor in Women Studies from Quinnipiac University. During her educational experience, Nicole studied abroad in Florence, Italy, and Granada, Spain.
Ms. Mallma joined the Yacub Law Offices at the Rockville, Maryland branch in June of 2021. Since joining, she has represented clients before United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and at the Immigration Courts in Baltimore and Arlington. Ms. Mallma has impressive rates of approval in her cases, and her case expertise includes the vacation of negative credible fear findings, cancellation of removal, special rule cancellation, and asylum. Ms. Mallma has a brisk motion practice at the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals, and is licensed to practice law in Washington, D.C.
Nicole is the daughter of parents who immigrated from Peru, and she is fluent in Spanish and English. In her free time, Nicole enjoys fashion and Peruvian gastronomy.
