Jose Alvarado is a paralegal at Yacub Law Offices in Woodbridge, Virginia.
Prior to joining Yacub Law Offices, Jose worked at an immigration law firm in Alexandria, Virginia, where he attained comprehensive knowledge of several United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) applications and filings with the Immigration Courts. Jose also has internship experience at non-profit organizations that provide legal services, food, and clothing to low-income immigrants.
Jose earned his Associate Degree from Northern Virginia Community College and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration and a minor in Public Policy and Management from George Mason University. During his time at George Mason University, Jose was a member of Mason DREAMers, a student group that aids undocumented students in reaching their educational goals.
Jose was born in El Salvador and came to the United States when he was eight years old. As a Deferred Action for the Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipient and first-generation college graduate, he knows the challenges the immigrant community faces in the United States. Jose is passionate to help fellow immigrants overcome these challenges and achieve immigration benefits.
